The Kitemark doesn’t mean business comes flooding in

Just because you have the Kitemark, don’t expect work to come flooding in, said Neil Marcus, Director of Selsia Vehicle Accident Centres at the Triple Focus event at Thatcham.

During a seminar on marketing your kitemark, Marcus explained how successful businesses are driven by customer needs and that in the vehicle repair industry, many repairers are not communicating their customer benefits in a way customers fully understand. You can have the best equipped workshop, highly trained technicians, car manufacturer approvals and Kitemark accreditation, but unless these are communicated correctly and they bring new business opportunities, they could be “nice to haves”. Neil Marcus commented, “At Selsia, we believe good local marketing and customer care training complements our national business development activities and makes our network even stronger and more attractive to work provider customers. Kitemark accreditation brings many benefits for different types of customers, but it’s important for repairers to understand the key drivers behind their needs. This is why we support our repairers in this important area. Our members have worked hard and invested in the Kitemark accreditation, we are now helping them to market this coveted accolade”
