Lidford joins Selsia

Selsia Vehicle Accident Centres is pleased to announce the appointment of Neville Lidford as Director of Engineering for the Group. Selsia’s fleet customers will benefit from Lidford’s wealth of industry experience in the engineering and claims management process. He began his career as a body and service workshop manager for Blue Star Garages and then joined Cornhill Insurance as Staff Engineer. Lidford formed Lidford & Reid Assessors in the 1980s, a firm of engineers covering South East England and the Midlands and were the first independent engineers to carry out desk top inspections nationwide. In 1990, he formed Freephone Claims, a 24 hour call centre with a national approved repairer network, operating with insurers and large fleets. Since 2005, Lidford has provided management services to various insurers and repairers across the UK. Commenting on his appointment, Neville stated "I have been watching the development of repairer networks with great interest and I have been particularly impressed at the unique range of services Selsia provides to its members and customers. In my experience, it is critical that Selsia offers the training and engineering required for tomorrow’s new vehicle technology. Not only does this benefit our members with repair methods, it is a key benefit for fleet managers, when it comes to controlling cycle times, quality and repair costs.
