Used hybrid market doubles in two years
Return to news11th September 2025
The used hybrid market has doubled in two years, according to new figures released by Marketcheck.
It analysed data from July 2023 to July 2025 and found that both availability and sales numbers doubled in that period of time.
A total of 38,692 used hybrids were available for sale in July 2023 and this had risen to 80,490 by the same month in 2025.
Meanwhile, used hybrid sales in July 2023 were recorded at 13,768, rising to 32,750 in July this year.
Marketcheck also analysed the average last listed price for all used hybrids sold in the UK and found that prices fell by eight per cent over the two-year period, from £26,106 in July 2023 to £24,122 in July 2025.
Price stabilisation
Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, said: “We’ve seen a remarkable shift in the used hybrid market over the past two years, with both supply and demand more than doubling.
“This growth reflects how hybrids have become a key stepping stone for many UK drivers looking to move away from traditional petrol and diesel vehicles.
“What’s also notable is the stabilisation in pricing. After a steady decline through 2023 and early 2024, average used hybrid prices have levelled out this year, suggesting the market is maturing and consumer confidence in hybrid technology is solidifying.”
